With 25 year’s therapy experience, I take a client-centred approach using blended, evidence-based therapeutic modalities to help my clients face challenges such as: mental health struggles, relationship challenges, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue, and separation and divorce. I bring empathy, compassion, and non-judgment to the therapeutic space, working from a strengths-based, collaborative, respectful lens. We’re in this together. Getting Connected is the first step forward.
I am both a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) as well as a Registered Individual, Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) (Clinical Fellow) with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT). I am committed to helping individuals, couples and families strengthen their relationships.
I am an Accredited Family Mediator (Acc FM) with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM), and welcome the opportunity to help separating families in transition do so respectfully, keeping the children’s wellbeing front and centre of all decisions.
I also work in Collaborative Practice as a Family Professional and as a Trainer/Coach. Collaborative Practice is a respectful alternative to a court based process where separating couples work with a professional team through their separation process. I am a member of the Hamilton-Halton Collaborative Practice group.
I am trained in both Level 1 & 2 EMDR training (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I value the privilege of helping people heal from the difficult memories of many forms of trauma.
I have a Master of Theological Studies in Pastoral Counselling (MTS) from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an Honours Degree in Sociology (BA) from McMaster University. I also have an Addiction Studies Diploma from McMaster University.
